The 2023 Darling Downs Beef Battle takes place on Thursday, 31 August, from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The venue for the event is Rumours International, 323 Ruthven Street, Toowoomba, Queensland 4350. An introduction to the 2023 Darling Downs Beef Battle
TSBE Food Leaders Australia is proud to be hosting the Darling Downs Beef Battle again, as part of the events program it arranges during the year. This year, celebrity chef, Samuel Burke, joins TSBE Food Leaders Australia again. He is the business manager of Meat and Livestock Australia and a Corporate Executive Chef and relishes the opportunity to attend the event, which showcases the beef of the region.
Mr. Burke is joined at this great beef experience by industry professionals. Representatives attend as it’s the perfect opportunity for the top grain fed beef brands to showcase their grain fed beef. They display their products to attendees during a full dinner, whilst competing to win. The audience has a vital role to play as they score all beef brands. During a blind taste test, the audience will sample and score the brands, making the night a great beef experience.
The celebration of Darling Downs beef is in its sixth year
2023 marks the sixth year that this highly anticipated event has taken place. 2021 was an especially eventful year when “Stanbroke wins” was announced. Members of the Stanbroke team, including sales representative Chris Woolhouse, were elated as this was the first time that a brand had won the prestigious Darling Downs Beef Battle back-to-back. It did so with its Diamantina Wagyu.
Jump forward two years, and this year’s event is different for beef brands. There are now two categories to be won. The Darling Downs Beef Battle will be solely scrutinised by a judging panel of experts. Whereas the Darling Downs Beef Battle People’s Choice will be decided by the audience attending on the night.
Anyone who has not obtained a ticket to this year’s event can express their interest in 2024. This is the only option for people who are without a ticket, as there are no places left at the 2023 celebration.
In the meantime, the excitement is building in the lead-up to the Darling Downs Beef Battle 2023.
