Client Overview

Richers Transport is a family-owned freight business founded in Maryborough, QLD in 1935. The company runs a fleet of more than 450 units from five Queensland depots, moving freight along the eastern seaboard between Queensland, New South Wales and Victoria.

To support the growing logistics and transport needs of the Fraser Coast region and the wider east coast, Richers needed a new depot in its founding town, built as a base for fleet management and maintenance at the scale of the operation.

Key Outcomes

Richers Transport now operates from a new 4,200 m² workshop and headquarters in Maryborough, within a depot development spanning more than 50,000 m² and laid with 45,000 m² of concrete. The development brings a dedicated wash-down bay, fully equipped workshop, spray painting facilities, administration offices, lunchroom, amenities and mezzanine areas onto a single site, giving the fleet one base for servicing, maintenance and administration.

The structure uses open-web clear span portal frames, carrying the roof without internal columns. The column-free floor gives Richers unobstructed truck movement through the workshop and the flexibility to reconfigure the layout as the fleet and its maintenance requirements change.

Entegra designed and constructed the cold-shell structure as part of the wider depot development delivered by head contractor IDC Construct.
