Client Overview
Davis is Australia's most southerly Antarctic station, located near the Vestfold Hills on the Ingrid Christensen Coast of Princess Elizabeth Land, more than 4,800 kilometres south of Hobart. Operated by the Australian Antarctic Division, the station runs year-round with a reduced winter team and an expanded scientific community through the summer months.
Aviation is not a convenience at Davis. In one season alone, the station recorded 718 helicopter flights, moving people, equipment and critical data across one of the most unforgiving landscapes on the planet. The station's helicopter operations needed a permanent hangar capable of protecting aircraft from Antarctic conditions and providing a controlled environment for maintenance, servicing and pre-flight checks.
The challenge was not just the design. It was getting the right solution to the right place, fully engineered and ready to perform, in one of the most logistically demanding environments on earth.

Key Outcomes
The Australian Antarctic Division now operates a helicopter hangar at Davis Station, giving the aviation team a controlled environment for maintenance, servicing and pre-flight checks, and a permanent shelter for aircraft when not in use.
The complete modular kit, including structural steel and pre-engineered slab, was engineered for Antarctic conditions and transported from Hobart to Davis by icebreaker for on-site assembly. Custom sliding doors were engineered to seal out drifting snow. Inward-opening personnel access doors were detailed to remain functional under severe wind loading.
The build draws on the same remote delivery capability that underpins Entegra's work across regional and remote Australia, applied to one of the most logistically demanding sites on the planet.
