Client Overview
Teys Australia is one of the country's largest beef processors and lotfeeders, established in 1946 and operating as a Cargill company. Its grainfed programs run through three feedlots: Jindalee at Springdale in southern NSW, Charlton in VIC and Condamine in QLD. Located near Wagga Wagga, Jindalee has twice been named ALFA Feedlot of the Year and finishes cattle for Teys' premium grainfed and Angus brand programs.
The southern climate places pressure on cattle across both seasons. Summer heat increases the energy cattle spend regulating their temperature, while wet winters make pens harder to manage and harder on animal condition. Teys set out to achieve more consistent conditions year-round, improving cattle comfort and feed efficiency while increasing capacity on the existing site.
03
Key Outcomes
Entegra delivered eight Ridgeback® structures at Jindalee, each 36 metres wide and ranging from 150 to 400 metres in length, providing 86,400m² of covered pen area and adding capacity for 13,000 head.
The structures create a controlled environment for cattle on feed, reducing heat stress through summer and providing protection from rain and wet pens through winter. The patented curved roof profile promotes airflow beneath the structure, assisting with temperature regulation and maintaining a more stable climate year-round.
