Client Overview

Australian Food & Fibre (AFF) is Australia’s largest cotton producer and a leading agricultural business producing, processing and marketing premium cotton, grain, legumes and oilseeds across New South Wales. Through an integrated supply chain, they connect Australian agriculture with customers around the globe.

AFF has a network of five of the most modern, technologically advanced, and high-capacity cotton gins across regional New South Wales, operating in the Gwydir, Namoi, Macquarie and Murrumbidgee valleys. The business also has an extensive warehousing and logistics network, with strategically located facilities in Narrabri, Warren and with this project, Hay. This development will allow AFF to increase their supply chain solutions, further facilitating their ability to move goods to and from Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne ports via road and rail.

Key Outcomes

Construction has recently been completed, with the buildings handed over in time for the ginning season. The two multi-purpose facilities provide on-site storage for around 42,500 cotton bales at the Hay gin yard.

Totalling over 7,300m², they give AFF growers and customers greater certainty and efficiency across inventory management, logistics coordination and marketing timing, as the new warehousing reduces the business's reliance on third-party storage.

The additional capacity gives AFF a more resilient and adaptable supply chain, with the room to better manage annual marketing requirements and seasonal fluctuations while maintaining ginning throughput. It also improves operational efficiency, reducing bale handling and enabling quicker movement of bales into storage.
