Client Overview
Australian Food & Fibre is one of Australia's largest integrated cotton businesses, recognised for the quality of the cotton it supplies to markets worldwide. From its base in Moree, AFF grows, processes and markets cotton across New South Wales.
The business owns every stage of the cotton chain, growing, ginning, warehousing, classing, marketing and shipping, run as one connected operation. That control holds quality to a consistent standard and gives customers full traceability back to the farm.
AFF gins across five New South Wales valleys, the MacIntyre, Gwydir, Namoi, Macquarie and Murrumbidgee, where it also farms, with the Hay gin yard among its key ginning operations.
03
Key Outcomes
Construction has recently been completed, with the buildings handed over in time for the ginning season. The two multi-purpose facilities provide on-site storage for around 42,500 cotton bales at the Hay gin yard.
Totalling over 7,300m², they give AFF growers and customers greater certainty and efficiency across inventory management, logistics coordination and marketing timing, as the new warehousing reduces the business's reliance on third-party storage.
The additional capacity gives AFF a more resilient and adaptable supply chain, with the room to better manage annual marketing requirements and seasonal fluctuations while maintaining ginning throughput. It also improves operational efficiency, reducing bale handling and enabling quicker movement of bales into storage.
